this outfit shoot was pretty much unplanned. i’m trying to learn about my camera, so i was testing things out and it just kind of turned into a shoot, as you can see by the shirt change.
i want to quickly address something regarding the amount of pictures people post on their blogs. everyone has their own idea of how many is too much and some people think it’s really narcissistic to post more than one. blogging is narcissistic, period. my opinion of this is first of all people should be able to do whatever the fuck they want on their own blog. my usual amount of photos is around six and let me tell you why….. i have been a costume designer, wardrobe stylist, on set costumer etc. for 20 years. detail and documenting is very important to me. i also love to see the movement of clothing and how it drapes on the body. i used to move a lot more in my photos until i found on someone else’s blog that they filled a whole post up with cruel comments about me and my blog… talking shit on my outfits and how “crazy” i am (well yeah… duh). i was in a really sensitive place as this happened a few weeks after my brother died. and i let this alter my photos a bit. well i’m now at the point where i just don’t give a shit anymore. i document my outfits, period. this is my blog… take it or leave it. okay enough with my vent sessions.

my husband bought me this margiela ring as a “second” engagement ring. my real one was my grandmothers and it’s in a safety deposit box as there is no way i’m wearing it in this neighborhood, even if it is insured. anyway, i love it. thanks baby.
the concho bracelet i am wearing is from nickie frye’s etsy shop. check it out here.

TOP TEN FUN FACTS OF THE DAY:
- i was jipped/gypped (depending on how “urban” you are) out of summer. for those of you that can’t wait for fall so you can layer, you should have been in los angeles all summer. i am pissed.
- found a freaking awesome vintage coat at the goodwill today. featured below. this is why i can’t shop at expensive vintage shops. i am one of the best thrift store shoppers there is…. and if you don’t believe me… join me.
- i never thought i would find love. until i was 37 and fell in love with my friend of 22 years. i am more in love than i ever thought possible. he makes me a caramel macchiato or a green tea latte everyday too.
- this army jacket i am sporting is a vintage one from vietnam or some shit. i have been seeing them all over the stores for a lot of moola and people really why pay that much when you can ebay or thrift the shit?
- never ever get on the anti depressant pristiq unless you want to be tortured senseless when you get off of them. i have been going through horrible withdrawals for a week and a half. and this is coming from a girl that has tried just about every anti depressant on the market and never had problems other than brain zaps for a few days. it sucks balls… big ones.
- i can spend hours upon hours looking at tacky shit at $1 dollar stores. i love them. which leads me to the next fun fact….
- why is everything at the dollar store over a dollar??!!
- it is harder to shoot against a white background than anything else.
- i DREAD fashion week so much that i will not be on twitter for at least another week. and no i don’t want to see ten million catwalk posts. you all know my view on fashion plus it disrupts my creative process.
- i am a huge animal lover although i have never considered myself a “dog” person—i have had cats all of my adult life. but let me tell you…. i am almost more in love with violetta (my dog) than my husband. i know it’s that much love i tell you!

i hesitated on posting these photos because of the crap quality but figure you are all used to it by now. my husband and i walked over to starbucks earlier so i threw on a chambray shirt, vest and some platforms over my pj’s and off we went. from there we needed to move the car for street cleaning tomorrow and decided to go to the park for a bit. it was really nice. it’s so amazing in l.a. how you can be in the city one minute and the next minute be somewhere beautiful totally unlike the city. since this little adventure was completely spur of the moment i didn’t have the camera but i liked how the colors and textures turned out on the accidental outfit, so i had the husband take some photos. we also took some photobooth in the forest photos. yeah baby!
hope you all enjoyed your labor day. what did you do?

this bag i got at olvera street and it’s perfect for walks.

i scored these cable knit sweater leggings at the aa end of summer sale and thought they would make perfect pj’s—as you can see by the saggy knees.
did my regrowth last nite too, obviously.

happy labor day weekend every one! my husband, violetta and i drove down pch to the malibu pier today, hoping to catch some sun and instead caught a lot of fog and cold. stopped by american apparel on the way to grab some warmy gear. we all love the beach so much and should be living on one within the next year *crossing fingers*. it is said that everyone has their special place that is for them whether it’s the beach, the city or the desert etc. i just love the feeling of driving down pch looking at the ocean and listening to cat stevens (oh how much do i love thee). i actually felt happy today, which is very, very rare for me. thank you god!
so today’s post is extra self indulgent. i am wearing a faux fur vest i got from zara, black jean leggings, purple top followed by henley and circle scarf. oh, oh, oh and i thought i lost my favorite hat, and have been browsing etsy and ebay relentlessly—i finally found this one, which is now my new favorite and guess what?! i found my fave hat today. the universe works in mysterious ways. anyway just warning you that you will be seeing a lot of this new hat. rambling once again. enjoy your weekend gorgeous ones.
