hope you all enjoyed your memorial weekend. i sure did. got to spend time with the husband. trips to international silks and woolens to buy fabric for throw pillows, shopping on melrose—trips to home depot and taking violetta to the dog park. i also made some jersey bell bottoms and a caftan. getting ready to make a grey jersey maxi dress now. oh, and the husband and i diy’d a branch jewelry stand. will show it to you when it’s finished. what did you do for fun?

finally…. you guys know how long i have been wanting to do my hair—since i started this blog i believe. but i kept buying shoes instead of saving up the cash. i just couldn’t justify spending over $300 bucks. my sis usually does my hair but she is back in virginia so no such luck. instead i decided to do it myself, which i’ve done many times—but because of the length i was a bit of a scaredy cat. so i did the platinum first and was going to do a dark brown underneath. as you know i have been playing with the color sprays and extensions for quite sometime and wanted to do it, but the whole bleaching thing won’t work if i want to go dark brown when i get sick of the color, which i will. so last nite i was at cvs and saw this color, instantly googled it, found out i can do it over my natural color but just won’t get the same effect as if i bleached—so i bought it. came home and made a complete mess of my bathroom but the results look amazing. i’m so excited. next is the cut, but i won’t do that myself. so i would like to thank my sis for taking my calls at all hours of the night freaking out about how long to leave a toner in etc. i love you sis! hope you are all enjoying your week. love.
i’ve gone platinum. well… i’m on the way and it is quite the process—bleaching, toning, bleaching and toning. plus it’s a pain in the ass because i am doing the underneath dark brown so i have to keep that separate. needless to say i am doing this on my own, so the back of my hair has random darker spots. i think it looks quite good for now considering. will get some color photos up tomorrow. i’m having to get creative with photos as per the camera situation. iphone it is for now. i made the necklace out of some of the charms i got at the flea market. one for myself and one for the husband. he wears my sign and i wear his.
some photos taken at the flea market on sunday on my iphone. it was a blast but ultra chilly and windy. i found some amazing brass charms and cheap cut-off, succulents—saw billy corgan (who has an amazing blog btw, currently undergoing maintenance otherwise i would post a link) and had my pic taken by a girl attending fidm… cute. was looking desperately for more vintage hats to add to my collection but to no avail. i was so happy to be able to spend a few hours with my husband. what a great day! how was your weekend? do tell!
